The French group ROQUETTE (5th producer in the world of starch) launched production at its site in Lestrem (Pas-de-Calais, France), of isosorbide POLYSORB® which is presented as an alternative to bisphenol A for producing polycarbonates.

ROQUETTE is the market leader from plant-derived materials (food products from wheat starch, maize starch, potato starch and their derivatives). The POLYSORB® Isosorbide is presented as an alternative to bisphenol A for producing polycarbonates or other polymers. Moreover this substance can improve the properties of this biobased polycarbonate : optical, UV resistance, chemical resistance and resistance to high temperatures. This production unit declared an annual capacity of 20,000 tons of quality plastics processing material.
