Europe has fixed a migration limit for bisphenol A in toys.

Edited on 10/10/2014
Summary:
The European Commission has set a migration limit of BPA at 0.1 mg / L in toys intended for use by children under 3 years and in toys intended to be mouthed.
News text:

The European Commission has amended the Annex II of Directive 2009/48 / EC on the safety of toys, including a migration limit of 0.1 mg / L for bisphenol A. Enacted on the 23th June 2014, this provision will only apply from the 21 December 2015.

This migration limit may need to evolve as the effects of bisphenol A are still under assessment (notably by the European Food Safety Authority).
