Since 2 January 2020, thermal paper with a bisphenol A concentration of 0.02% or more by weight may not be placed on the European market.
News text:
In December 2016, the European Commission, acting on a proposal from France, amended Annex XVII of Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) in order to prohibit thermal paper* containing more than 0.02% by mass of bisphenol A on the European market.
This decision has been applicable since January 2, 2020.
